Instructions:
=============

- Install the game.

- Run the launcher and use the serial numbers for the appropriate realflight version you are using.

- Install all the updates of the game that you want including any Addons/Expansion packs that you like.

- Copy the emu.exe Emulator to the installation program directory typically
  at X:\Program Files\RealFlightG3 (or G4)

- Make sure you have at least one joystick configured and connected.
  If you are using the older G2 joystick go to Control Panel/Game Controllers/Add
  Select Custom and select a 4 Axis Joystick, in Controller Name type: G3 and click
  OK to add the joystick.
  Make sure that in the Joystick list it shows OK.
  If you have other joystick and not the older G2 one, just make sure it appears on the
  joystick list otherwise add it.
  Calibrate the joystick.

- Run the Emu.exe Emulator from the program directory and press "Launch the game !!!".

- After the game was loaded, from the game menu select Controller/Select Controller
  and select the "Interlink Joystick (G2)"

- Select Controller/Controller Calibration in order to calibrate your joystick.

- After calibration is done, you can press "2" and see the joystick controls appear on the
  screen. This will help you see if the joystick is configured ok.

- Use CTRL-F and CTRL-G to control the flaps and gear.

- Enjoy !! ;)

Known issues and special configuration:
=======================================

- Emulator

The emulator works with versions: 3.0.0.313, 3.0.0.366 , 3.0.0.410 , 3.0.0.430, 3.0.0.448, 3.50.033
3.50.044, 3.50.060, 3.50.065, 4.0.0.31, 4.0.0.51, 4.0.0.52, 4.50.0.21 of RealFlight.exe.
If you get "Unknown Realflight version !!!" , you are using a new or unknown realflight version,
future to come emulator for this version will be available soon please be patient.

- Loading Errors:

Sometimes when the game tries to load it throws ugly errors saying "Error creating effect xxxx"
or something similar and halts, it can be right on the start or after 180 elements or so ...
This is caused by your Video Card Adapter that is not 100% compatible with DirectX 9.0c.
Check out: http://12.156.2.54/forums/showthread.php?t=9243 or seek google for this error.
You will need a quite newish card in order to run this simulator.
If you still want to to overcome this problem you can try and select the
"Try to overcome loading problems" checkbox in the Emulator this may actually work in some
cases but not guaranteed.
Sometimes using this flag can just hang the game when it is trying to load :/

- Joystick Configuration:

By default this game is built for a 4 Axis joystick.
You can use an older Joystick version from the G2 game and it will run smoothly.
If some Axis of the joystick are opposite you can use the Controller/Channel Mapping option
in the game to remap the controls to fit your joystick.
One problem exists though is that the older joystick does not have a channel for Flaps or Gear so
Flaps will be disabled using the older G2 control.
BUT - you can still use the emulator "Keyboard to Joystick mapping function" in order to map keyboard
keystrokes to joystick buttons and therefore you can play with Flaps and Gear hehehe =) !!!
However, if you would like and try connecting other joysticks or even build one of your
own I recommend using PPJoy and PPJoyJoy (do some google on it):

http://www.geocities.com/deonvdw/Docs/PPJoyMain.htm
http://www.simtel.net/product.download.mirrors.php?id=75176

These 2 programs let you map an existing joystick or keyboard to another joystick.
You can try and play with these in combination with the emulator.

If you are having problems using your joystick and the emulator, you can try and configure the
emulator to map into your own joystick channels.
First of all try using the "auto-detect" button (before launching the game) and follow the
pictures and instructions inside the emulator to try and figure out the right channels
mapping. If the auto-detect didn't work, try the manual way:
Launch the game from the Emulator and then press "2" inside the game,
this will show the joystick controls on the screen.
Now select the "X1 Axis" in the Emulator and select a number from 1 - 60 and go back to the
simulator and try to move the X1 Axis of your joystick in order to see if it affects the control
in the game or not. Usually the mapping for the axis controls are in steps of "4",i.e. 0,4,8,12,16,
20,24,28 etc ...
If it does affect so you have probably found the right value for this Axis, if not you should
select another number and repeat the test and so on ....
Repeat this procedure for the all of the Axis list in the Emulator until done.
Make sure that after finding all the Axis mappings, you need to select the Controller Calibration
from the menu and calibrate the joystick otherwise it won't be configured and calibrated right.

- USB/Serial and real R/C devices.

Sometimes when using USB or Serial interfaces, the calibration of the sticks might not work well.
Many users complain that the "Finish" button is dimmed and cannot be pressed when trying to
calibrate the joystick or their R/C. This usually happens when RF cannot sense the full motion of
the sticks or identify all the channels. Another problem that might occur is that RF can indeed
calibrate the sticks but the sticks won't move to their full edges, i.e. cannot issue a full down
or full up or full throttle etc.
In order to solve these cases, you can try and play with the "Signal Fix" feature. Select the
problematic axis and check the Signal Fix checkbox. After doing so and while the game is active
move the stick in full circle motion few times in order for the emulator to be able to
calibrate it.
The min and max values set the range for the axis to be reported to RF. Feel free to play and
change these values in order to find what suites your configuration most. The current values are
a suggestion and might not work well in your case.

When the sticks are responding to your satisfaction, get back to the emulator screen and select
the "Lock Calibration" checkbox in order to maintain the calibration for the rest of the session
and save the calibration data in the emulator for good, otherwise the calibration might be lost
when selecting new aircrafts or reloading the game.

The following configurations reported to be working, these are only examples, many other
configurations are known to be working as well.

- Futaba T6XA R/C with a PPM to Serial converter.
- PPJoy running on Com Serial mode.
- Following configuration in Emulator:

	X1 -> 0
	Y1 -> 8     [x]Signal Fix, min:0 max: 29000
	X2 -> 20
	Y2 -> 4     [x]Signal Fix, min:0 max: 29000
	Flaps->12
	Button1->24
	Button2->12

- Futaba 9 CAFS 9
- USB cable adapter.
- In the R/C, set the Acrobatic level for the channels.

	X1 -> 0
	Y1 -> 4
	X2 -> 16
	Y2 -> 8

No Interlinks Found
===================
There are some known problems running the emulator with some models of various USB joysticks such
as Thrustmaster or others.
If you are capable of running the game but see a "No Interlinks Found" message when trying to
select the controller inside the game, try the following workaround:

Download PPJoy (http://www.geocities.com/deonvdw/Docs/PPJoyMain.htm) and use PPJoyJoy
to map the joystick to another virtual joystick. After doing that make sure that in
Control Panel/Game ports/Advanced, the PPJoy joystick is the default and preferred one.
Run the game in the above configuration.

Windows Vista
=============
Some users complain about running the emulator on Vista, it is known that the game can run on Vista
with no special problems. If you are experiencing difficulties running it on Vista, try the following:

1. Switch off DEP while you perform the installation.
To do this, go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced system settings
In the performance section click the Settings button,
Select the "Data Execution Prevention" tab,
Select "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only"
Once the installation is completed, you can consider undoing the DEP change.

2. Right click on the Emu.exe file, selec...
