BEST PRACTICES FOR MODELLING BRUSHES WITH THE PANDORA EDITOR

·         Always work with the Toggle Grid Snap activated.

·         Work as much as possible with a minimum grid value of 16.

·         Always model brushes while taking care that faces and edges are aligned with the world axes:

If you need a slope, in order to create a volume like this, don’t model it using brushes.

Use Static Meshes.

·         Never intersecate brushes.

·         Don’t use additive brushes: once created, convert them to Static Mesh as much as possible (refer to the provided documentation on how to use this feature).

TOOLS

Fix rounding error on brush vertices.

Select all your brushes, right click and select “Fix rounding error on brushes vertices”.

This takes all the selected brushes and snaps their vertices to the nearest integer value, thereby removing the rounding error.

For example if the X component of a vertex is 123.0004, it snaps it to 123.0.

Transform Permanently

When modelling with brushes, it is useful to reset the “history” of the transformations of our brushes often (rotations, translations etc.).

You have to select all the brushes, then right clickèTransformèTransform Permanently.
