The Elemental Lands Setting
This adventure can be played in any d20 setting. However, it was drafted with the Elemental
Lands fantasy world as its background. This setting is a gritty campaign of holy warriors struggling in an
epic battle against good and evil. Two gods, The Creator and The Destroyer, struggle for celestial
control by claiming mortal souls as their worshippers. Using godly agents and chosen mortals as
ambassadors of their power, the gods duel for lives on the world. The mortal races are caught in this
war of good and evil.
The most recent strike of the Destroyer was the unleashing of a devastating plague that affected
most mortal races. The campaign world begins about fifty years after mortals recover from this plague of
pandemic proportions.
The Plague
destroyed many species, including the entire race of gnomes. Many
creatures that survived the disease were
mangled, mutated, and wreaked. A group of
high wizards calling themselves the Wizards of
the Way were able to barter for power and health
for mortals from the four great elemental gods.
These elemental gods loosened the reign on the
elemental powers that were used to create all the
races. This allowed mortals to tap into this
mighty source and use their strength to defeat
the Plague. After the Plague subsided, some
mortals retain the ability to tap into these
elemental powers. Today, the world’s races
struggle out of a dark era and advance once
more towards repopulation.
Making the Adventure d20
Generic
“By Cult & Dagger” is designed for the
Elemental Lands™ setting. However, the
adventure can be easily modified for any
campaign by changing the names of the thorp
and surrounding areas as the GM sees fit.
Bender and his cultists can worship any evil
deity.
The Dark Prophet – Part 1
This adventure can be played as part one of an epic series of adventures called “The Dark
Prophet”. This series unfolds around a mystical prophet that walks the land committing souls to aid in a
sinister plot to overthrow the power of the Creator. The prophet remains behind the scenes until the last
adventure when he and his plan unfolds to the characters. Each adventure in the series can be played
as a stand alone product that can be easily weaved into your existing campaign.
Elemental Lands Vocabulary

= Often used as a sign of The Destroyer in the Elemental Lands
Aerial: Elemental goddess of air
Agents: Non-mortal creatures that act as liaisons between the gods and mortals
Anointed: Mortals blessed by The Creator to be his worldly champions. These mortals have the
Godtouched feat.
Bearded Dwarf: Standard dwarf race of the Elemental Lands
Church of the Children: A denomination that worships the Creator and believes it is their holy duty
to acquire anointed children at puberty so that they may be properly educated and trained
in the ways of the Creator.
Damned: Mortals cursed by The Destroyer to be his worldly champion. These mortals have the
Godtouched feat.
Days of Dragon: Era when the land was ruled by dragons and their sorcerer offspring
Destroyer’s Day: Actually, this is the NIGHT of the new moon. Said to be the holiest night of the
month for worshippers of the Destroyer.
Elementalist: Mortals that tap into the powers of the elemental gods
Eonos: Elemental god of earth
Garden Mother: God of nature, growth, birth and nurture
Godtouched: Mortals that are not fully “anointed” or “damned”, but have been affected by a god
and received access to select powers
Green’s Gap: Small thorp known for it’s spicy nut farms located in the Barony of Nualo.
Horvath: Evil barony ruled by a government of powerful witch covens.
Mangum House: A small nation ruled by the merchant house Mangum. The merchant house has
a monopoly on much of the trade routes in the region.
Mar: Elemental god of water
Nualo: Barony ruled by a puppet baron interested only in money. The real power behind the
throne is the Church of the Children and Mangum House.
Nulo: Central governing city of Nualo. Nulo has an extensive dungeon complex under the city,
called Undercity. Because of this dungeon, many adventurers flock to Nulo for
adventuring.
Pyrisi: Elemental goddess of fire
Ragrvik: A land ruled by a self-righteous an utterly evil lord. The region is composed mainly of evil
humans and goblinoids. The capital city, also called Ragrvik, serves as a major port for
pirates.
Ras: Empire based on a culture of elemental fire/sun worship. The influence of the Creator and
Destroyer is mostly limited to missionaries and the occasional godtouched mortal. The
Ras Empire persecutes any religion outside of elemental fire worship.
The Creator: Ultimate God of good. Other gods of good must answer to the Creator. The Creator
never directly interferes with mortals. Instead, agents and “anointed” mortals act as his
voice and hands.
The Destroyer: Ultimate God of evil. Other gods of evil must answer to the Destroyer. The
Destroyer never directly interferes with mortals. Instead, agents and “damned” mortals act
as his voice and hands.
Twisted Elf: Evil strain of elf race in the Elemental Lands
