SIM Technical Description
1. General Features
The MOBY--I serial interface module (SIM) is an all-purpose module with a serial interface that allows
MOBY--I to be used with any computer, PC or third-party PLC. The SIM combines the functions of the
ASM interface module and the SLG read/write device in a single unit.
Three models of SIM are available:
6GT2005--0AA00 -- SIM 41: with V.24
interface
(RS 232 interface)
6GT2005--0BA00 -- SIM 42: with RS 422 interface
(RS 485 or V.11 interface)
6GT2005--0CA00 -- SIM 43: with TTY
interface
(20 mA linear current)
These models differ only in the type of serial interface they use. All other data are identical.

Compatible with all MOBY--I mobile data carriers (MDS)

SIM 42 can be connected by a cable directly to the STG service and test unit for testing/opera-
tional purposes.

All SIM versions can be addressed using a variety of procedures:
