Submarine Titans ******************** CHANGES NOT FOUND IN MANUAL --------------------------- Auto-save: Submarine Titans automatically saves all missions every 5 minutes and overwrites the same file. When you are playing campaign missions, it will also save at the end of every mission so if you get stuck or forget to save, you can load the autosave missions to commence the following mission. If you do not like Submarine Titans to automatically save, you can uncheck the Autosave mission box in the Submarine Titans Configuration program. If you start a Multiplayer game, it is recommended that names beginning with a _m (e.g _mClash_of_the_Titans) be used for these types of games although they can also be used to play against the AI. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ------------------- For minimum and recommended System requirements please read the ST Help file. Ideal System Requirements: (for ultimate game performance) Pentium III 450 CPU Windows 95/98/2000 128 MB RAM 8X CD ROM DRIVE at least 650 MB free hard drive space Sound Blaster compatible sound card DirectX 7.0a (included on CD) Mouse SETUP AND INSTALLATION ---------------------- 1. Start Windows 95/98/2000. 2. Insert the Submarine Titans CD-ROM game disc into your CD-ROM drive. 3. A title screen should appear. If it doesn't, double-click on the "My Computer" icon on your Win95/98/2000 desktop. Next, double-click on your CD-ROM icon to install the game. If the install screen still does not appear at this point, locate the "setup.exe" file on the Submarine Titans CD-ROM and double-click on it. 4. Follow the remainder of the on-screen instructions to finish installing Submarine Titans. You will also be asked to enter a CD Key. The CD Key can be found on the back of your CD-ROM jewel case. 5. Once installation is complete, double-click on the Submarine Titans game icon to start the game. Installation Of Direct X: ------------------------- Submarine Titans requires DirectX 7.0 or higher in order to run. If you do not have this installed on your computer, you will be prompted to install DirectX 7.0 while installing the game. Click "yes" when prompted to install DirectX 7.0 and continue installing the game. IMPROVING PERFORMANCE --------------------- If you have a slower machine you can improve game performance by doing one, several, or all of the following: 1. Select the 'Full' install option during the set-up process. 2. Once inside the game in game settings turn off Trails, Shadow, and Depth of Fog. 3. Run the game in 800X600 default resolution. 4. Turn off in-game animation. TROUBLESHOOTING --------------- Problem: The installation procedure installs DirectX 7.0 onto my computer, but the game fails with a DirectX error message. Solution: Shut down the computer and re-start it, then try running the game again. Problem: The game locks up, or a blank screen or crashes with an obscure error message. Solution: This is most likely caused by errors in the Windows drivers for either the display card, or sound card. Obtain the latest patches or driver upgrades from your computer or card manufacturer, and install them before running the game. Problem: I tried to run Submarine Titans and I got a ws2_32.dll was missing message. Solution: Please go to the Microsoft web site and download the Windows Socket 2 Update. http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/WUAdminTools/S_WUNetworkingTools/W95Sockets2/Default.asp Problem: I can't hear any sound.
