LoopBack Test - List of Error Codes ----------------------------------- The driver of the Steinberg PC MIDI3 Interface contains a Loopback test routine. Description: * Connect 'MIDI Out 1' to 'MIDI In 1' * Open: (Controlpanel/system/devicemanager/PC MIDI3driver/Settings) * Press the Test- button * The driver sends a short SysEx-message (6 Bytes) to PC-MIDI3-Out 1 * The PC-MIDI3-Input recieves the data. * The driver (the test routine counts the incoming bytes and checks the interrupts that should happen. Possible errorcodes: * Code 30: The amount of incoming bytes is equal to the bytes that were sent. But there were NO interrupts. * Code 40 n: The amount of incoming bytes is NOT the same as the amount of bytes that were sent. (n = the number of recieved bytes.) The interrupts are OK. * Code 50 n: The amount of incoming bytes is NOT the same as the amount of bytes that were sent. (n = the number of recieved bytes) and there were NO interrupts. Troubleshooting: * - Check the MIDI cables * - Check the PC-Interface-cable * - Check the power supply (Try to use the Interface with and without the power supply) * - Are there any other cards using the LPT interrupt? (This is possible, if a card does not use W95 drivers) * - PC MIDI 3 is damaged (Contact your local dealer) © 1996-1998 Steinberg Vertrieb GmbH.
