(May be disable in Advanced settings) Some small bugs fixed. ============================================================================== File Wizard 1.33 May-18-2001 282,944 Ctr+1 Grow name-field to size of the longest filename/shrink it to previous size. Shf+Ctr+K Single panel on/off, grow/shrink name-field. ============================================================================== File Wizard 1.32 Mar-12-2001 257,632 Ctr+N rename files. It works for all the files but I suggest to use it for mp3 files only. If you rename file by its description then FW will ignore the "[http:\\..." text from the new file name (The ReGet /www.reget.com/ makes such description). The "/" character will be replaced with "(" or ")" character. The ` character will be replaced with ' character. The double space will be ignored. Etc. F3 pressing on a mp3 file: shows frames of the mp3 file (works for mpeg1, layer3 packed mp3 files only). The mp3 files have got a lot of frames. Duration of frame is about 26 milliseconds. Most times (but not always) the frames are independent. If there is a damage (click, crackling, miaowing) in the mp3 file then usually you can repair it with cutting of the damaged frame: 1. With a mp3-player (Winamp) determine the place of the damage (min:sec). 2. In the mp3-viewer look for the place of the damage (min:sec). 3. Mark 50-60 frames about the damage (F8, F9 keys). 4. Save file without the marked frames (F2 key). The new file name will be "!F!original". The original file won't be changed. After saving the viewer will continue to showing the original file. 5. Load the new mp3 file into the mp3-player and hear it. 6a.If you have missed the place of the damage then correct the marking. 6b.If you have hit the place of the damage then try reducing the number of the marked frames because only one frame is damaged generally. 7. Save again the file (F2 key; the new name again will be "!-!original", so you need not load it into the mp3-player again). 8. Hear again the new file. If you can reduce the selected area then go to the point 6th. 9. If the fixing is succesfull then you may erase the damaged file. 10. Sometimes a "Y" frame uses data of a previous "X" frame. If this "X" frame is damaged so you cut (F2 key) this "X" frame then the mp3 will miaow. For this reason try filling "X" frame with 0ffh (F3 key) instead of cutting (F2 key). In this case the new file name will be "!F!original". Try finding the least possible number of the marked frames. 11. Sometimes the bug cannot be repaired... See the page L of the built-in Help, too.
