Summary
Version 2.10 of the firmware for the WRT54G3G Router for 3G Broadband has been
released. This version adds support for new datacard devices, updates operator-
specific settings.
This firmware is supported by a new Setup Wizard version 4.13.0.009.

Port Forwarding is now available on mobile connections in addition to previous functionality on
fixed network connections.
Handling of long-term mobile connections is enhanced. Some connections would appear to
the router as operational but in fact were unable to transmit/receive data. Connections are
now periodically tested and if not operational are closed and reestablished.
Pass-through of multiple VPNs using PPTP and L2TP is now possible, as has been the case
for IPSec.
SMS support has been added.
o SMS can be sent / viewed from the user interface on the ‘Applications & Gaming’ page of
the user interface.
o The router can be managed remotely using SMS commands when sent from pre-
authorised users. Commands include: Status, Reboot, Reconnect, and Wake-on-LAN.

Known issues
Brief Description
When a non-functional connection is detected (see new feature above) when using a Huawei
datacard, the router will automatically reboot (with other datacards, the datacard will be reset
and the router will continue operating).
Option Globetrotter Express HSUPA E datacard (GE0301, ETNA) is offered by local markets
with one of 2 distinct interfaces enabled. The modem interface (used with Windows RAS) is
the same interface used in previous datacards and is supported by this firmware release. The
‘light packet’ interface (used with Windows NDIS) specification was not fully available in time
for this release and is not supported. Unfortunately, there is no external indication or other
easy method to determine which interface is active – contact your Vodafone or partner
network customer care for further information.

Brief Description
New datacards: Support for Huawei E660A (HSDPA 7.2) and Option Globetrotter Express
HSUPA E (HSDPA 7.2/HSUPA). The Express format datacards are only supported with the
vendor’s own PC converter caddy. See ‘Known Issues’ below for detailed compatibility info.
Read-only status page: The status page for the router is now available without login by
issuing the command http://192.168.0.1/Status_Wwan.asp
