General explanation
Display Unit
The display unit in your car (see the car
manual) is also used for displaying the radio
information with the appropriate item in use
illuminated.
Display icons
Icons in the display show the different
operation modes of the CCR 2006.
Depending on the vehicle version, deviations
are possible.
Information on this operating manual
In order to quickly gain an overview of the of
the CDR 2006, see the survey of all the
controls in the Overview (see page 1).
If you are searching for a specific topic, the
index at the end of the operating manual
should help you to find it more quickly.
Detailed descriptions of your car radios
function can be found in the chapters entitled
ÑRadioÒ and ÑCassette.Ò Information on
seldom used functions can be found in the
chapters ÑExtended functionsÒ and ÑCoding.Ò
Should your car radio stop working consult
the chapter on ÑTroubleshootingÒ . Doing so
often means avoidable errors can be quickly
remedied.
To makereading of this manualeasier you are
given the following aids:

Example: Display with all icons shown for radio

Radio
AS AS storage level is selected on FM or
MW.
RDS RDS (Radio Data System) is switched
on.
EON The tuned station is linked via RDS to a
station broadcasting traffic reports.
Traffic reports are put through.
[ ] TP(Traffic Program)is switched on,but
no TP station is tuned in.
TP The tuned station broadcasts traffic
reports.
[TP] TP is switched on and the tuned station
broadcasts traffic reports.
Cassette
Cr A metal or chrome tape is inserted.
CPS Cassette Program Search is switched
on.

Dolby § BNRNoiseReductionis
switched on.
CD Changer
CD or The CD changer is operable
DISC IN at least one disc is inserted in
the CD magazine).
RDM Random playback is switched on.

Theft Protection
Switching on/off
+ Press control u to switch the set ÑonÒ or
ÑoffÒ.
Switching on and off with ignition key
When the set is on it will be switched off/on
automatically by removing / inserting and
turning the ignition key.
The connection between ignition switch and
set can be disabled, see page 16.
Automatic switch-off
When the set is switched on by pressing
control u it will automatically switch off one
hour after the ignition key is removed.
Volume
+ Turn control u to adjust the volume.
When switching on,the radio is set to the
volume levelyoulastadjusted,ifthislevel
did not exceed the factory set basic
volume level.
Ifthe volume level washigher,theradiois
set to it's basic volume level.
Coding
This set is provided with a passive security
system and comes coded from the factory.
A coded set is worthless to a thief.
The radio code is stated on your Radio Pass
or Car pass.
Therefore don't leave the Car Pass or Radio
Pass with the CODE numbers in the car.
Radio code
When coded,the set briefly shows"CODE"in
the display each time it is switched on
(providing that ignition is switched on).
The radio code is set as a factory default.
You can disable the code by decoding the
set, see "Decoding", page 18.
