Parchment Daisies
These pattern details should be used in conjunction with the Form-A-Lines
General Instruction sheet.
“Out at …” means bring the needle from the back of the work through to the front.
“In at …” means take the needle from the right side of the work through t o the back.
Petals
Out at A in at B
Out at C in at D
Out at E in at F
Continue working around the petal
in this sequence until you get back
to the starting point. See the above
diagram as a guide.
Repeat this on the other petals.
Flower centres
Out at 1 in at 2
Out at 3 in at 4
Out at 5 in at 6
Continue this sequence until the
flower centre is complete.
Work the other flower centres in a
similar way.
Flower stems
Stitch the stems with a single stitch
between the two holes.
Leaves
Backstitch around the leaves using the
diagram as a guide.
This pattern is designed to be stitched on parchment so that
the petal and leaf shapes can be embossed.

The design could also be stitched on normal card with the
petal and leaf areas coloured using a medium of your choice.

Parchment flower pricking pattern
Form-A-Lines General Instructions
In order to complete your cards you will require these additional items:
• Sticky tape cut into small pieces to secure the ends of the threads.
• Clear drying glue or double-sided adhesive tape for final assembly.
• A piece of foam, a felt mat or a folded towel to protect your work surface.
Step One Protect your work surface. Open up the card and with the right side facing
up, lay a design template on the middle section.
Step Two Holding the template in place, take the large pin and prick through each
dot in turn on the template making sure that the pin also goes through the card.
Remove the template when the entire design has been comple ted.
Hint – If you wish to secure your template to the card with sticky tape, place the tape
on and off a cloth several times. This will take off the excess stickiness yet still allow it
to adhere to the card without leaving a mark. To test first use the r everse of the right
panel as this will eventually be hidden.
Step three Cut a length of thread about 2 feet long and thread the needle. (It is better
to use several short threads rather than one long piece as the holes of the card may
start to wear away the filament in the thread and cause it to fray. The underside of your
work will be hidden so it does not matter how many times yo u seal your threads.)
Attach the thread to the back of the card, close to the starting point, with a small piece
of sticky tape, making sure that you do not cover over any holes.
Step Four Follow instructions for each embroidered design, securing each length of
thread with a small piece of sticky tape.
To clarify : “Out at…” means bring the needle from the back of the work through t o
the front.
“In at…” means take the needle from the right side of the work through to the back.
Step Five When a design is completed fold under the right hand side of the card and
glue in place around the edge.
