Inspect ease of operation and condition of
connecting rods (32/4, 32/9) and throttle
control cable (30)
Replace parts if necessary

Inspect play between driven spring (30/7) and
guide piece (30/5), adjust
There must be play present between driven
spring (30/7) and guide piece (30/5). Adjust
with adjusting bolt (30/3) if necessary.

Detach connecting rod (32/4) at one side and
inspect CTP stop
Angled lever (32/5) must be resting against
CTP stop of the idle speed control actuator

Attach connecting rod (32/4) free of stress
Engine 104: Connecting rod (32/4) must
remain set to fixed dimension. Measured from
middle of ball socket to middle of ball socket.

Adjust connecting rod (32/4)
Engine 111:
Position connecting rod (32/4) so that it is
resting free of stress against ball pin (fig.).
Shorten connecting rod (32/4); turn ball socket
(2) in 2 turns for this purpose, attach and lock

A It is important to carry out the setting of the
connecting rod (32/4) particularly accurately.
The microswitch for the idle speed control must
be operated (closed) during this step

CTP setting at engine side.
Inspect setting of throttle control lever (32/7),
adjust.
Engine 104:
The roller (32/8) in the throttle control lever
(32/7) must be resting free f play against the
end stop of the fulcrum lever (32/6). Adjust
fulcrum lever (32/6), if necessary, with
connecting rod (32/9) so that the roller (32/8) is
resting free of stress against the end stop.

Adjust control pressure bowden cable (98)
With control pressure bowden cable attached,
turn adjusting bolt (98/2) until the tip of the
drag lever (32/2) is at the same height as the
tip of the fulcrum lever (32/6)
7.1
Inspect WOT stop, adjust
Manual transmission:
With engine switched off, depress accelerator
pedal as far as the WOT stop.
Angled lever (32/5) must be resting against the
WOT stop of the idle speed control actuator.
Release adjustable WOT stop (38), if
necessary, by turning to the left. Pull out stop
pin slightly, lock WOT stop (38) by turning to
the right

Automatic transmission:
With engine switched off, depress accelerator
pedal (24) as far as the WOT stop at the
kickdown switch (S16/7) (do not operate
kickdown switch!).
Angled lever (32/5) must just be touching the
WOT stop of the idle speed control actuator;
position, if necessary, with adjusting bolt (30/3)

Inspect CTP setting at chassis side, adjust Accelerator pedal (24) in CTP position. There
must be play present between driver spring
(30/7) and guide piece (30/5); alter with
adjusting nut (30/2), if necessary, in inside of
vehicle

Grease throttle control cable (30) with
anticorrosion grease between end piece and
guide piece (30/5)

Adjust connecting rod (32/11)
A Only on engine 111 with cruise control
Detach connecting rod at one side. Throttle
control lever (30/5) must be in CTP position.
Turn throttle control shaft (32/7) in clockwise
direction (arrow) as far as the stop (CTP
position). Turn drag lever (32/12) in clockwise
direction until it is touching the throttle control
shaft (32/13). Now, set the connecting rod
(32/11) so that it can be attached free of stress
