If the prediction, (that the percent of aged people living in most developed countries is going to grow), will come true in fifty years, it will undoubtedly give a rise to many terrifying changes.
For example the economy of involved counties will be probably working on a constantly lowering level. Through the years the majority of people will be getting old enough to retire, causing an enormous void in country's employment. Many of the retirees probably would be experienced workers, well prepared for practicing their profession. They will be gradually substituted by new laborers, not always 100% accurate to the activity or having lower qualifications, employed in the face of  fewer young people on market.
And as might be expected, with time there will be more and more retirees who will have to be paid their pension every month.
What could also appear in further future is definitely demographic low caused by little percent of young people who could refill the gap after old people passing away.
These occurrences will inevitably lead the developed countries to budget decline. The consequences could be irreparable and have a long-drawn influence on various elements such as the number of birth, migration balance, life conditions etc.   The process is so dangerous it could even lead to disintegration of the societies.
Happily these somber visions of future demography are only predictions for now, and we hope they will never be realized, for it still does not seem so easy to invent the Elixir of Youth.
