Scout General Rebald, Advisor to King Leto

Bolden Rebald has been in service to Cygnar for the majority of his life, having enlisted in the army at the tender age of twelve as a captain's page. He was pushed into military service by his overbearing father, a minor landed knight living south of Ceryl. Bolden grew to love life as a scout for the Cygnaran army, serving initially along the Dragon's Tongue River before being transferred to Highgate.

After exemplary service, he became "Sir Rebald" and was inducted into the Knights of the Highgate Vigil, a prestigious knighthood of rangers, paladins, and fighters. Sir Rebald took naturally to command and was noted for his irreverent style of leadership. He led the deepest patrols into the Wyrmwall Mountains and confirmed the truth of legends that a great old dragon named Blighterghast has long made the mountains its home. Sir Rebald was noted for keeping his ears open and knew everything of importance happening in Highgate.

When King Leto was crowned and put the call out for several high ranking posts during the reshaping of the kingdom's military, Commander Gollan recommended Sir Rebald without reservation. The seasoned knight made the trip to Caspia, met the king in person, and the two soon became friends. He was immediately promoted to Scout General, a new position in King Leto's military hierarchy. This position was a vague one, and Rebald was allowed to make of it whatever he could, having jurisdiction over all the kingdom's ranger and scout corps as well as war-bards and military chroniclers. It didn't take long for the Scout General to become the de facto "spy master" of Cygnar, heading up the kingdom's intelligence network. Sir Rebald had to construct this almost from scratch, as the old network of Vinter Raelthorne was dismantled due to the many crimes of its members under the Inquisition.

At present, Scout General Rebald is the only advisor King Leto considers a friend. The Scout General remains an active man, uncomfortable with the formalities of the court. He prefers to be traveling the realm, often incognito, listening in tavern corners and observing intrepid adventurers. His duties usually keep him near Caspia, but his agents can be found across the Iron Kingdoms, and he has been known to take a personal hand in important matters.

High Magus Calster, King Leto's Court Wizard

Sometimes affectionately referred to as "the hardest working wizard in Caspia," the high magus and court wizard is one of the most valued members of King Leto's inner circle. It is rumored Calster only sleeps two hours a night and spends all of his waking time laboring either for the throne or the Fraternal Order of Wizardry. He walks a difficult and dangerous tight rope of loyalties, trying to serve both organizations to the best of his considerable abilities.

Arland Calster was born in Caspia to a wealthy merchant's family and apprenticed as a wizard at the earliest possible age. He has spent virtually all of his life in the great capital and only leaves rarely on matters of state or for occasional visits to other branches of the Fraternal Order. After enduring the long and trying rites of initiation into the order, Calster rose rapidly through the ranks and was presumed to be on the fast track for eventual leadership at the headquarters of the order in Ceryl. It is no secret that his accepting the position of court wizard has slowed his rise to power and also created some lasting animosity with several of the high magi of the order. Calster has always made it clear that his loyalty is to the realm first, and the order second, and he refuses to abuse his position to the order's benefit. He has resisted many attempts to undermine, discredit, or corrupt him, and has somehow still effectively led the very important Caspian branch of the Fraternal Order (although his duties have necessitated delegation of many of his order functions to capable subordinates).

The root of Calster's devotion to King Leto is not generally well known. Calster's younger sister—whom he loved dearly—was a sorceress who was brutally tortured and killed by Vinter Raelthorne's Inquisition. Magus Calster (as he was ranked at that time) swore a private oath to help destroy the evil king. He eagerly pledged his service to Leto the Younger when the prince began to plot to overthrow his corrupt brother. Calster was instrumental in helping to topple Vinter Raelthorne from the throne, engaging in direct magical conflict with several of Vinter's most formidable wizard allies, including corrupted members of his own order. Calster had a similar hatred for Dexer Sirac (aka Vahn Oberen) whom he thought was slain in the destruction of the Inquisition. It's possible Calster may take measures to meet personally with those who helped in Oberen's downfall to thank them directly.
