Connect your Navman by the USB cable to your PC. Make sure ActiveSync is installed on your PC. Step 3. - Installing the Unlock hack. Please start the Navman Unlock setup program. On the Navman device you may be asked about the installation location. Please make a double tab to the "Navman_xxx_Unlock.CAB". You will be asked to override it - answer [Yes]. (The .cab file will be removed by the install process later on.) Navman F20 / F30 / F40 / F50 / iCN 320 / iCN 330 / iCN 650 This devices do not have a Windows CE system. Because of this an unlocking is not possible. Notes General: * To start the Navman SmartST navigation program please select "SmartST" from the new Windows start menu. * If you wish to add new programs to the start menu please put program shortcuts into the "Unlock\Programs" folder. * If you wish to see program icons on the desktop of your Navman device please put the programs shortcut into the "Unlock\Desktop" folder. * Programs that you want executed on each start up of your device should have their shortcut placed in the "Unlock\Startup" folder. * There is a large list of possibilities for configuring the Navman Unlock hack. Back up the original Navman Software Warning - It is strongly recommended to backup the original Navman Software before unlocking your device. Ignore this advice at your own peril. Make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync installed on your PC and then connect the USB cable to your device and turn it on. Open up 'My Computer' icon or Windows Explorer and you'll see your navman listed as Mobile Device. From here you can copy all the files to a safe location on your hard disk. If needed, these files can then be copied back to the device. You have to backup the SmartST software only. This is located depending of your hardware in this folder: * iCN 510: \My Flash Disk * iCN 520: \My Flash Disk * iCN 530: \My Flash Disk * iCN 550: \cf disk * iCN 720: \DiskOnChip * N20: \Program Files * N40i: \Program Files * N60i: \Program Files * S30: \E Normally the [\Windows] folder will be overwritten by internal rom contents by a hard reset. You can initiate a hard reset by switching off the power switch at the bottom/back of your device. Note: The RESET button on the bottom/top of your device will perform a soft reset only - and this will not over write or restore the original [\Windows] folder contents. To (soft) reset the Navman poke your stylus into the RESET hole. 2. Prepare SD Card Before installing the unlock it is also a good idea to create "Program Files", "My Documents" and "Application Data" folders in the root directory of your SD card if you have one. The unlock program will detect these directories (refer configure settings for details).
