The play really worth recommending is surely “The passionate woman”. The premiere of the play took place on 16th January 2003 in the Teatr Współczesny in Warsaw. Directed by Maciej Englert, the play stars Marta Lipińska, Piotr Adamczyk and Krzysztof Kowalewski

The plot of the play focuses on the dialog between the members of the family revolving around the problems steming from a marriage. The characters of the play talk about the parrents’ (Lipińska and Kowalewski) marriage and the marriage of their son (Adamczyk) which is going to be reached on that day

To the undeniable virtues of the play surely belongs the script for it is absolutely witty and hilarious as well as very admonishing. Furthermore, the acting is excellent and thoroughly impressive. Last but not least, the scenography and the costumes are really well matched to the plot and they emphasize the roles of the actors very well

What I did not like about the play was its last part when the action moves from the attic to the roof of the house. In my opinion the actors’ performance is more convincing and natural while playing inside the house. I would rather they did not have to crawl on the roof and climb there by the ladder

“The Passionate woman” is certainly an excellent illustration of the disappointments resulting from a marriage with an unsuitable person. However, thanks to the perfect and full of humour script it becomes a brilliant comedy which is absolutely pleasure to watch
