PRESENT SIMPLE

 

 

I - Pay attention to the present simple (affirmative):

 

  • We put the verb in the simple form in the majority of cases;

 

  • We put ‘s’ in the 3rd person singular (he/she/it);

 

  • We put ‘es’ in the 3rd person singular (he/she/it), when the verbs end in - o - ss - sh - ch - x;

 

  • We put ‘ies’ in the 3rd person singular (he/she/it), when the verbs end in - y.

 

 

II - Complete with the adequate form of the verbs:

 

  • Charles __________ (swim) in the local swimming pool.

 

  • Patrick, his brother, __________ (practise) sports, too.



  • The two boys __________ (go) to the local sports club at the weekend.

 

  • I __________ (write) letters to Sue every week.

 

  • She __________ (live) in Bristol.

 

  • We __________ (have) conversations on the internet.

 

  • You __________ (take) your dog to the park in the afternoon.

 

  • The dog __________ (love) playing with balls.

 

 

III - Form correct sentences:
