NTR 2011 Update Info:
*********************
Many users reported that NTR v3.1.3 for Norton 2011 v18.1.0.37 causes problems
if Norton is updated to v18.5.0.125. If your Norton got locked, expired, or if
some of the Norton settings cannot be entered anymore, then try solving the
problem by using one of the other NTRs (instructions included).

Reported is that NTR v3.0.0 BETA can also be used to unlock and activate Norton
2011 v18.5.0.125 but the Norton background themes can't be changed and creating a
Norton account isn't possible (cause NTR v3.0.0 BETA disables the Norton account).

* Note: NTR v3.0.1 was pulled back by BOX!, so don't use NTR v3.0.1 anyway!

About Norton 2011:
******************
Norton Internet Security offers all the same features as Norton AntiVirus, but
NIS also includes a firewall and offers full internet protection, unlike NAV.

Norton 360 offers all the same features as Norton Internet Security and Norton
AntiVirus, but Norton 360 also includes additional system tools and utilities
for tuning-up and optimizing your PC.

Norton 360 Standard Edition offers the same features as Norton 360 Premier Edition,
but the Premier Edition also includes additional system tools and utilities for
tuning-up and optimizing your PC. The Premier Edition also offers an online Backup
feature. However, when using the NTR the Norton Online Backup feature may not work
because you need a valid Symantec account!

AV = AntiVirus
IS = Internet Security
NAV = Norton AntiVirus
NIS = Norton Internet Security
N360 = Norton 360
NTR = Norton Trial Reset

Help, Troubleshooting, General Info:
************************************
* Note A: To uninstall the Trial Reset just click the NTR [Uninstall] button.
          Make sure to uninstall the Trial Reset before uninstalling Norton!

* Note B: If Norton expires prematurely, then click {Subscribe Now} to check
          the Norton subscription.

* Note C: To extend the trial days, just uninstall the NTR before the subscription
          expires and install it again to get another 120/180 days of subscription.

* Note D: You may need to run the Trial Reset using an Administrator account
          (right-click on the Trial Reset and choose 'Run as Administrator').

* Note E: In case of problems with the Norton Protection Updates, then check
          your computer date and make sure that it is set to the present date.

* Note F: If the Trial Reset is detected/blocked by your antivirus software then
          add it to the exclusions lists of real-time protection and auto-scan.
          You may need to temporarily disable real-time protection and auto-scan
          when adding the Trial Reset to the exclusions lists, or when using it.

* Note G: If the Trial Reset is removed by your antivirus software then restore
          and exclude it through your antivirus (Quarantine or History, or
          something similar).

Important notes:
****************
1. As long as the NTR is working it's recommended to wait with updating to a new
   program version update till you know if Norton can safely be updated to a new
   program version (disable the option if available!).

2. To avoid possible disabling of the NTR due to a new program version update:
   > At 'Settings -> Miscellaneous' disable the option 'Automatically download
     a new version' (<- if available as option!).

3. Recommended is to disable the option 'Automatic LiveUpdate' at 'Settings ->
   Computer settings', and to run/click the LiveUpdate tab manually instead.

4. Also it's recommended to disable the option 'Receive news about special offers'
   at 'Settings -> Miscellaneous' (<- if available as option!).

To go into Safe Mode (in case of problems using the NTR in Normal Mode):
************************************************************************
** Press (F8) while (re-)starting the computer. Select Safe Mode to continue.

Or:

1. Go to Start -> Run and type msconfig, click OK.
2. In the System Configuration Utility, on the BOOT.INI tab, check /SAFEBOOT
3. Click OK.
4. When asked to restart the computer, click Restart.

To turn back to Normal Mode repeat the above 4 steps and just uncheck /SAFEBOOT

In case somehow the NTR doesn't work or if Norton is locked and/or expired:
***************************************************************************
>> Before using a new NTR always uninstall any used previous NTR first
   by using the [Uninstall] option of the used NTR. If needed uninstall
   the NTR in Safe Mode as Administrator.

01. Disconnect internet.

02. Run the NTR in Safe Mode as Administrator.

03. Once the NTR is closed restart the computer in Normal Mode.

04. Norton should be enabled again, showing 120/180 days of subscription.
    (Some of the previous Norton settings may got set back to default.)

05. Connect internet (do not firewall NAV).

06. Once there's an internet connection start Norton.

07. When the Norton Account activation window appears complete the activation.

08. Use any fake info to create a Norton account, but remember the used info
    to complete the account activation steps.

09. At the "Thanks" window click "Close now" at the left hand bottom.

10. In [Help & Support] you now should have [Subscription Status].
    If [Subscription Status] is not there then is something WRONG.

11. Click [Subscription Status] and you should get the following message:
    "You have 120/180 days of subscription remaining."

12. Click [Finish].

Note from NTR 2011 v2.6.0:
**************************
- If you see [Fix Now], click on it and restart your computer if necessary.

- Configure your Norton settings and update in case necessary.
