Materials Required:
3mm Quilling paper: White and Olive Green.
Scraps of Bright Yellow and Bright Orange paper.
54cm Length of White 15mm wide scallop
edged lace.
Quilling tool.
Scissors and tweezers.
Heart shape paper punch.
Mid Grey paper 11cm x 16cm.
P. V.A. Craft Adhesive.
Card mount: AP02U Textura Natural White.
To Make The Card:
Cut the lace into four pieces, two at 16cm and
two at 11cm. Place the open card face down and
glue the strips of lace around the aperture with
the scalloped edge inward and overlapping the
aperture space so they will show through.
Keeping the card face down glue the grey
paper centrally onto the left hand flap then glue
the flap closed behind
the aperture.
Wind the spiral round the quilling
tool as shown and glue the end.
Remove the rose centre from the tool
holding it so it does not uncoil and glue
it into the flower by the base.
Make ten roses as
follows. Punch out
three hearts from bright
yellow paper. Snip each
one from the bottom
point to about half way
up. Dab a little glue onto one
side of the heart where it is
snipped and push the two
halves together overlapping
them then hold until glued.
Glue the three hearts togeth-
er by the bases, overlapping
slightly to form a cupped circu-
lar flower with an open centre.
Cut a 2cm square of bright
orange paper. Snip the corners
off as shown and cut a spiral
from the edge into the centre.

Pegs:
Make 14 of these. Using the
quilling tool, roll a 1 8 length of
white paper into a tight coil,
glue the end so it does not unroll.
Small Leaves:
Make four of these. Roll a
1 4 length of olive green paper
into a loose coil and glue the
end. Pinch one end of each coil
to form teardrops.
Larger Leaves:
Make two of these using
1 3 Lengths and two using 1 2
lengths. Roll a loose coil in olive
green. Pinch the coil at opposite
ends and push together slightly
to form the leaf shape. Make
one more loose coil using a
1 3 length and do not shape.
Glue two complete lengths
of olive green paper together to
form a double thickness strip.
Assemble The Design:
Place the pieces onto the card and arrange
them to make the bouquet, begin by placing the
widest row of three flowers in the centre and
work up and down from here. Leave the stems
until after the rest of the pieces are glued onto
the card.
When you are happy with the layout glue the
pieces onto the card, using tweezers for this will
make it very much easier. Pick up each piece in
turn with the tweezers, dab a little P.V.A. adhe-
sive onto the base of the piece and still holding
it in the tweezers place it back onto the card.
Use the double thickness strip to make the
stems. Cut a 6cm length, snip each end to an
angle as shown below, fold in half to make a
‘V’ shape and glue between lowest leaves and
centre flower using the diagram to guide you.
Cut six short lengths between 4 to 5cm long.
Cut one end of each strip to an angle as before.
Curve the strips slightly to one side or the other
and glue them onto the card tucking the end
of the long centre one
behind the lower lace
edge.
